Fears/Phobias
Written by Judy Callihan Warfield

Did you know that the #1 fear is the fear of public speaking? Do you hands sweat and your heart pound when you have to give a speech or lead a discussion group. I see people start to squirm when I attend chamber of commerce functions and they have to introduce themselves and their business to the group. What does this lead people to believe about you and your business. Perhaps their perception is that you are not as knowledgeable as you should be; or perhaps you don’t believe in your services or yourself; or perhaps you may not be the right person to assist them since your anxious feeling makes them uncomfortable. Hypnotherapy has a very high rate of success with assisting you to become confident and breeze thru public speaking difficulties.

Did you know that twice as many women have a fear of flying? Unfortunately, with our current threat of terror many people have developed this fear. But, why not allow hypnotherapy to assist you in removing this fear so you can live your life as you choose. There are over 500 labeled fears that people experience everyday. Why not make this the year that you conquer something that may be keeping you from experiencing a full and complete life. The sense of being back in control of your life is a wonderful secure feeling.

Let’s also clarify the difference between a fear and a phobia. A fear is behavior based on an actual event. Perhaps you were bit by a dog as a child and now have a fear of dogs. This is an actual event with a definite onset founded in logic and reasoning. A phobia is an emotional reaction to a perceived threat, but not based on an actual event that happened to that individual. Untreated fears can escalate and become phobias if not dealt with and can become debilitating to a person’s lifestyle. Unfortunately, these fears and phobias then become a habit in our daily life. The good thing is that habits can be amended and changed.

So whether it is a fear of flying; fear of public speaking; fear of driving; fear or rejection; or fear of an animal of inanimate object NOW is the time to decide to conquer that fear or phobia and free up your life of any restrictions.

• Reduce stress and anxiety
• Gain control back in your life
• Eliminate blocks that keep you from your full potential and life
• Life without fear
