Positive Thinking

Do you spend your time thinking more about all the things that are wrong with your life rather than what’s right? Do you tend to dwell on things you don’t have rather than being thankful for all the wonderful things you do have? Before you make a sales presentation have you already run a negative outcome in your mind? While dressing for that first date have you already talked yourself out of possibility of a new relationship? When you look in the mirror do you focus on all of the imperfections rather than the wonder of your body?

If we “think” and believe that we will never be able to lose that weight, stop smoking, pass the exam, reduce our stress, have that wonderful relationship, have more financial security, realize peace in our life, be pain free, and/or improve our health then guess what…….IT WON’T HAPPEN!!!

Our subconscious mind contains all of our beliefs, patterns, behavior, and habits and it is like a big computer that is constantly being “programmed” by negative thoughts that we are constantly bombarding ourselves with. Because the subconscious mind does not know the difference between fact and fiction all of your negative self talk goes straight in as fact and the subconscious starts running on that information.

The best part is that it is just as easy to “program” your subconscious to a positive outcome. In order to change or achieve success you must be more aware of your thoughts and focus and reframe them using positive comments and thoughts. This may be difficult at first because so many of us now have a habit of negative self talk. Stop and be aware of what you are saying to yourself and make a conscious choice to reframe into the positive. After a few weeks you will have created a new positive habit.
